We have another excellent chapter meeting planned along with a wonderful way to support local mothers. We are having a clothing drive for the women of Genesis House. Genesis House is a 501c(3) which provides shelter to mothers with children, who are homeless, some of these mothers are also pregnant and we support homeless seniors as well.  We work with our residents to secure employment and make permanent living arrangements. Our Student Program is designed to strengthen the women’s knowledge and practice in areas of education, finances, and parenting. Personal growth is promoted through case management, mental health counseling, and mentors who present a wide range of life skills presentations, with the goal of becoming self-supporting and independent. Genesis House needs: women's blouses, slacks, dresses; sneakers size 6,7,8; and new underwear, small and medium.

Transforming Leadership Development: A 360° Perspective Into Practice, Performance And Potential for HR Leaders

- How would you rate the quality of leadership at your organization?
- What is your approach to leadership?
- What would others say about your leadership style?
- Do you think that your training and development programs are successful in addressing critical leadership competencies?
If you are unsure of the answers to some or all of the above questions, then you are not alone. A recent study conducted by DDI indicated that only 48% of employees view their company’s leadership as “high quality,” and only 10% of responses indicated they thought their leaders were “natural leaders.”
Never before in our working lives has there been such a need for high-quality leadership – how too often it is lacking. Even when training programs are introduced to support skills development, the impact can be limited, resulting in poor productivity, a lack of direction, and challenges in attracting and retaining talent. The answer is relatively simple; however, too often, an integral part of the process is lacking. Can you imagine, for example, visiting a doctor and having them write you a prescription without asking you any questions to understand your symptoms and first identifying the cause of your ailment? It would not happen. However, leadership development programs are often a one-size-fits-all approach, built on anecdotal feedback or as a result of an employee engagement survey with respondents selecting training needs based on what may be of interest, as opposed to what is needed. Have you considered therefore, as a HR leader, how you can create a culture of 360-degree feedback, and make it available to all employees within your organization? For too long, 360°assessments have been reserved for the upper echelons of leadership or for those who are under a performance improvement plan. Inherently, all people want to know what they’re doing well and what they can do better. The benefit of a 360°assessment is that it enables an employee to seek counsel from many others, rather than confining their professional aspirations to the effectiveness of their relationship with their direct supervisor.
During this interactive, participative, and application-focused session, time is spent emphasizing the importance of high-quality leadership and outlining the need to create solid foundations with a robust leadership competency framework. The session explores a practical approach in how to create a culture of open and honest 360° feedback and how the results of this process can help create transformational training and development solutions that result in talented, engaged, and hugely influential leaders. The World Economic Forum’s 2025 Future of Jobs Report indicated the need for effective leadership is going to continue to grow. This session will provide HR leaders with an impactful strategy and the tools needed to accomplish this.

Specifically, this session addresses the following objectives:
 - Understand why leadership can be ineffective and uninspiring.
- Recognize the importance of clearly defined leadership competencies.
- Outline the benefits of 360° assessments and discuss how they can be used to develop highly effective leaders and employees at all levels.
- Explore how HR leaders can create a culture where 360° feedback is embraced.
- Identify how to develop a targeted and impactful approach to leadership development
